Matilda Bourne

Food photographer - Stylist - Journalist

Cookery book hoarder, pyjama enthusiast, and dog devotee.

From the moment I smothered my face in ice cream (as a baby), I knew food was my future – I think we can all relate to that.

As I grew up, my inherent millennial love for technology and photography started to cross over into my love of food until I discovered my craft – food photography, styling and recipe development.

I’ve travelled the world chasing down the best bakeries in Europe, and I’m still on the hunt for that perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe, but most importantly I’ve dedicated my career to bettering my skills as a recipe developer, food photographer, and food stylist.

Previously, I was a member of the Your Home magazine editorial team, developing recipes, managing its social media channels, styling food shoots, photographing recipes, and constantly creating innovative content for online and print. More recently, I’ve been working with brands and publications, such as Men’s Health, chef James Martin, and Beyond Meat on food photography, recipe development and styling.

I don’t believe in content for content’s sake. Every image has its purpose and needs to tell the story of your brand and inspire your audience. It’s through knowing first-hand what a journalist looks for, and what an audience reacts to, that I’m able to tailor my work to your exact needs.
